Guy is in his first year as the boards treasurer. Guy grew up in the mid-west, just outside of Chicago and finished high school in the Boston area. He stayed in New England for undergrad before venturing to Southern California. He raised a family in Colorado and then lived out of a suitcase before landing on the big island as a new owner a year ago with his partner, Linda. Ice hockey took Guy all around the world and to university, he was also a competitive golfer. He now inspires to surf like his colleague, Rob Baker. According to Guy, "Serving on the board is my next give back-volunteering my professional experiences in whatever capacity my fellow unit owners need most."

Kirsten is in her first year as the board secretary and is a new owner at the Villages as of December, 2020. A native New Zealand Maori, Kirsten came to the U.S to follow a basketball dream. She spent most of her time in southern California with her wife, Laura, before deciding to follow their retirement dream to Hawaii. Kirsten enjoys tennis, hiking, working out, teaching, cooking, rugby and a nice cold glass of Sav Blanc.  She said, "As a teacher and a coach, I value the concept of "team" and working together to achieve goals. I hope to bring those qualities to the board and transparency to the Villages as a whole."

Officer - Harvey CohenHarvey Cohen
Harvey is in his third year as a board member and has been an owner since 2013. Born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in New Castle, Pennsylvania. After meeting his wife Louise, they moved to Chestnut Hill, Boston. Harvey's interests include going to the gym, baking and basic tai chi. Harvey said, "As a board member since 2017, my objective has been to maintain a superior living experience at the Villages while ensuring a sound financial basis for operations. This objective includes maintaining the aloha spirit in all activities with guests, owners, board members, and employees."

Bob McAllisterOfficer - Bob McAllister
Bob is in his third year as a board member and has been an owner at the Villages for five years. Born outside of New York City, Bob started making his way West. After a 40 year stop in Colorado, he made it to his new home, Hawaii. Bob, his partner Karen, and their dog Cooper enjoy staying healthy. He notes he stinks at golf, but enjoys it nonetheless. He is also interested in politics. Bob said, "With 38 years of homeowner board experience I just keep trying to focus on what is important and not allow the association to partake in individuals personal objectives. I think the owner survey is a key to making sure we listen to the owners, and communicate what is happening, or not happening and why."

Officer - David Colker
David joined the Board in 2021.  The Colker family has been coming to the Mauna Lani resort since 1992 and bought their unit at the Villages in 2011 after sampling other local resort developments.  David enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, working out, cooking (and eating the great local fresh food), reading, and trying to play golf.  He retired in 2019 after working over 40 years at a large international law firm, where he profitably managed a practice group and also served on a number of management committees.  David “believes in transparent consensus leadership and will work to help maintain the high quality of the Villages from both a structural and atmospheric standpoint as well as strive to make the improvements that the community desires”.

Officer - Paul Coates
Paul joined the Board mid-year in 2021. He was raised in a large family that moved often in the Air Force. Paul served a church mission to Polynesia and Micronesia in the mid seventies and has wanted to return ever since that great experience.  He and Donna raised their three children in Denver, Colorado and purchased a home in The Villages in the Spring of 2019. They plan to live as full-time residents for the next several years.  Recently retired from 30 years in the financial services industry, Paul has a “high sense of accountability for keeping our HOA finances sound and at the same time building consensus around the current goals and ambitions of the HOA to help plan and prepare for a fabulous future.”
